What about Family Violence?
Family violence is an extremely serious and pervasive problem in Australian society. It has a devastating effect not only on adults, but on children who witness it. It is a matter that is taken very seriously by the family courts.
Family violence takes many forms. Sometimes it is direct physical violence. It can also be a myriad of forms of psychological or emotional abuse or controlling behaviour. Whatever form it takes, it is a serious problem and if you have been subjected to family violence in any form, it is important that we talk frankly about it.
Many people who suffer family violence find it difficult to see a way out of the situation. Sometimes they feel ashamed or even responsible for what has happened to them. It is really important for me to openly talk about these problems with you.
If you are a victim of family violence, one of the most important things for you to realise is that you are not alone. There are many support services that are available that I can put you in contact with. There are significant steps that I can take for you to protect you and your children. You do not have to continue to suffer in silence.
Family violence is absolutely unacceptable in any form that it takes. You do not have to continue to be subjected to it. Talk to me, in complete confidence, about what is happening. I am passionate about protecting my clients from this scourge and take it as seriously as the courts do. I can help you.
